ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Aware of the importance of environmental matters and to ensure proper sustainable development, PLANBELAS, S.A. implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) at its Belas Clube de Campo golf course. As a result of the efforts made by the company, this EMS was certified in November, 1999, under EN NP ISO 14001 the international standard for environmental management, by SGS ICS, the official independent certifying organisation.

PLANBELAS, S.A. therefore obtained due recognition for its work towards safeguarding natural resources, and is proud to belong to the limited number of Portuguese companies that have secured certification for their Environmental Management Systems according to the above standard.

In October 2000, the Portuguese Golf Federation's Ecology Unit awarded Belas Clube de Campo certification regarding its inclusion in the European programme "Committed to Green". This also relates to the setting up of an Environmental Management System, the main objective of which is to minimise any impact on the environment as a result of running and maintaining the golf course.

Afterwards, we implemented a Quality and Environmental Management System for all PLANBELAS S.A, activities at Belas Clube de Campo, reinforcing the company efforts to fulfil the needs from both our clients and all the other interested parts. This system was certified under the international standards for quality EN NP ISO 9001 and environment EN NP ISO 14001 in June 2007. PLANBELAS, S.A. therefore obtained due recognition for its work towards safeguarding natural resources, and is proud of being the pioneer on ISO certification for real estate enterprises.
